These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Passport OCR, a restricted-access document-processing application operated under liuhailin.net.

By accessing or using Passport OCR, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the service.

1. Purpose of the Service

Passport OCR is a document-processing application designed to assist authorized users with tasks including:

• extracting structured information from passport scans;
• reviewing and correcting recognized passport information;
• validating document fields and machine-readable zone (MRZ) information;
• supporting passport translation workflows;
• generating related document outputs.

Passport OCR is intended as an assistance tool.

It does not replace manual document verification, professional review, official identity verification, or any legally required document-authentication procedure.

2. Eligibility and Authorized Access

Passport OCR is not an unrestricted public service.

Access is limited to users explicitly authorized by the service operator.

Users authenticate through Google sign-in, while authorization is enforced separately through the application’s access-control system.

Successful authentication with Google does not, by itself, create a right to use Passport OCR.

Access may be:

• granted;
• restricted;
• suspended;
• revoked;

at any time by the service operator.

You must not attempt to bypass or interfere with authentication, authorization, or other access-control mechanisms.

3. Authorized Use of Documents

You may only upload or process passport documents when you have an appropriate right, authorization, legitimate purpose, or legal basis to do so.

You must not knowingly upload or process:

• passports obtained without authorization;
• documents belonging to another person without appropriate permission or authority;
• documents obtained through theft, fraud, unauthorized access, or deception;
• documents for unlawful surveillance, impersonation, identity theft, fraud, or other unlawful purposes.

If you process documents belonging to another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you are authorized to do so.

Passport OCR does not independently verify your legal authority to process a particular document.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use Passport OCR only for lawful and legitimate document-processing purposes.

You must not use the service to:

• commit or facilitate identity theft;
• impersonate another person;
• create fraudulent identity documents;
• alter passport information for deceptive purposes;
• evade identity-verification requirements;
• obtain unauthorized access to accounts, services, systems, or property;
• process personal information unlawfully;
• harass, monitor, profile, or investigate individuals without appropriate authority;
• distribute malware or malicious content;
• interfere with the availability or security of the service;
• probe, scan, or test the service for vulnerabilities without authorization;
• bypass usage limits or access controls;
• automate excessive requests in a manner that disrupts the service;
• use the service in violation of applicable laws or regulations.

The service operator may restrict or terminate access where misuse, abuse, security risk, or other inappropriate activity is detected or reasonably suspected.

5. Accuracy and Manual Verification

Passport OCR relies on automated document recognition, validation logic, and machine-learning systems.

The service may produce incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or misleading results.

Possible errors may arise from:

• image or scan quality;
• document damage;
• unusual layouts;
• OCR errors;
• model limitations;
• incorrect automated normalization;
• incomplete source documents;
• software defects.

You are responsible for reviewing the output and comparing it with the original passport.

Do not rely on Passport OCR output without manual verification.

In particular, generated information should be independently checked before being used for:

• official submissions;
• visa or immigration procedures;
• legal documents;
• financial transactions;
• identity verification;
• government procedures;
• contracts;
• other consequential decisions.

Passport OCR does not certify the authenticity of a passport or the identity of its holder.

6. Translation and Generated Documents

Passport OCR may assist with generating translated or formatted document outputs, including DOCX or PDF files.

Generated documents may contain recognition, translation, formatting, or transcription errors.

You are responsible for reviewing generated documents before using, submitting, signing, certifying, printing, or distributing them.

Use of generated documents does not imply that they are:

• officially certified;
• notarized;
• legally valid;
• accepted by any authority;
• professionally translated;
• guaranteed to satisfy administrative requirements.

Acceptance of generated documents by a third party is outside the control of Passport OCR.

7. Personal Data and Privacy

Use of Passport OCR involves processing personal information, potentially including sensitive passport information.

The processing, temporary storage, third-party transmission, and retention of such information are described in the Privacy Policy.

By using Passport OCR, you acknowledge that uploaded passport images are transmitted to external cloud infrastructure, including Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, for AI inference.

You should review the Privacy Policy before uploading documents.

8. Third-Party Services

Passport OCR depends on third-party services, including services provided by:

• Google;
• Cloudflare;
• Alibaba Cloud.

These providers may be used for purposes including:

• authentication;
• authorization;
• network routing;
• security;
• AI inference.

Your use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms, policies, restrictions, and availability.

Passport OCR does not control third-party infrastructure and cannot guarantee:

• continuous availability;
• processing speed;
• geographic availability;
• model availability;
• data-retention behavior;
• continued API compatibility;
• continued provision of any third-party service.

Changes made by third-party providers may affect Passport OCR without prior notice.

9. Temporary Storage

Passport OCR is not intended to serve as a permanent document-storage service.

Uploaded passport documents and generated files are temporarily cached and are normally deleted automatically approximately one to two hours after processing or access, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for downloading any output you wish to retain.

You should not rely on Passport OCR as a backup or archive.

10. Service Availability

Passport OCR is provided on an availability basis and may be modified, interrupted, suspended, or discontinued.

The service operator does not guarantee:

• uninterrupted availability;
• specific response times;
• specific processing latency;
• a minimum uptime;
• permanent availability of any feature;
• compatibility with every passport type or document format.

Maintenance, infrastructure failures, third-party outages, security events, or technical changes may temporarily prevent use of the service.

11. No Warranty

Passport OCR is provided as is and as available.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, no express or implied warranties are made regarding:

• accuracy;
• completeness;
• reliability;
• fitness for a particular purpose;
• availability;
• legal validity of generated documents;
• acceptance of generated documents by third parties;
• uninterrupted operation;
• absence of defects or errors.

Users assume responsibility for determining whether the service is appropriate for their intended use.

12. Limitation of Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service operator is not responsible for losses or consequences arising from:

• incorrect OCR results;
• incorrect translations;
• incorrect validation results;
• reliance on generated documents;
• failure to manually verify information;
• loss of temporarily stored files;
• service interruptions;
• third-party service failures;
• unauthorized use of documents by a user;
• use of the service in violation of law or these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

13. Security

You must not deliberately interfere with the security or operation of Passport OCR.

Prohibited activities include:

• attempting unauthorized access;
• bypassing Cloudflare Access or other authentication mechanisms;
• stealing or sharing authentication sessions;
• exploiting vulnerabilities;
• introducing malicious software;
• intentionally overloading the application;
• attempting to access another user’s temporary files or information.

If you become aware of a security issue affecting Passport OCR, please report it to:

Do not publicly disclose a vulnerability before reasonable time has been provided to investigate and address it.

14. Account and Access Responsibility

You are responsible for the Google account and authentication session used to access Passport OCR.

You must not knowingly allow another person to use an authorized account to bypass the application’s allowlist.

If you believe that an authorized account or session has been compromised, contact the service operator promptly.

15. Suspension and Termination

Access to Passport OCR may be suspended or revoked where reasonably necessary, including in cases involving:

• violation of these Terms;
• suspected misuse;
• security risk;
• unauthorized document processing;
• excessive or disruptive use;
• attempts to circumvent access controls;
• service maintenance;
• discontinuation of the service.

Because Passport OCR is a restricted-access service, authorization to use it may also be withdrawn without creating an obligation to continue providing access.

16. Changes to the Service

Passport OCR may change over time.

Features, supported document types, AI models, validation rules, third-party providers, interfaces, or infrastructure may be added, modified, or removed.

These Terms do not guarantee continued availability of any particular implementation, model, provider, or feature.

17. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated when:

• the service changes;
• usage requirements change;
• infrastructure or third-party providers change;
• security requirements change;
• legal or regulatory requirements change.

The Last updated date at the top of this page indicates the current version.

Continued use of Passport OCR after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Applicable Law

Users are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations applicable to their use of Passport OCR and to the processing of passport and personal information.

Nothing in these Terms authorizes conduct that would otherwise be unlawful.
